Most schools today are involved in some sort of data-use process or evidence-based practice. This section will help you and your team identify the degree to which your school already uses data, then clarify how ready you are to make data use more integral to your practice.

You may choose to start by reading some of the key literature referenced in the Mini-literature Review. Or, if you are ready to analyze your school’s situation, you may complete A Short Self-Assessment: Conditions for Data Use or A Longer Self Assessment.  Once you administer one or both of the assessments, the results will be tallied and shared. The results can be e-mailed to you or to your team. The next step involves considering the implications for school improvement.
